Training & Workforce Development

Birmingham DAT is set spefic targets for workforce development and training by the National Treatment Agency. The information within this section provides an update on progress and a synopsis of the training courses available.

The following targets have been set by the National Treatment Agency (NTA) for drug treatment practitioners and managers. 

  • 75% of non professionally trained staff are undertaking or have achieved NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent);
  • 60% of professionally trained staff are undertaking or have achieved continuing professional development awards; and
  • 90% of managers are undertaking or have achieved an appopriate management training programme determined by the employing agency.

BDAT's Training and Workforce Development Manager is reponsible for ensuring that effective arrangements are in place to ensure that it meets its workforce targets.
